For Ireland residents who want to move to the United States, they need to have their immigrant visas processed at the United States Embassy in Dublin. Currently, there are 3 ways for Irish individuals to immigrate to the US:

  1. Immigrant visa should be sponsored by a US citizen
  2. A prospective US employer should sponsor the visa
  3. Petition from a lawful permanent resident immediate relative

Once the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) approves the petition then you have ultimately accomplished the pre-processing with the National Visa Center (NVC).
